Muddy Mother's Day

We went to the beach for Mother's Day with the Morgans.  The beach was a bit rough (lots of seaweed and driftwood - well more like huge logs/trees) since we had had some big storms a few days before. But the kids made their own beach out of the ponds behind the dunes.  I think they had more fun in that little pond than they would have in the gulf. It was a beautiful day, and I'm always happiest at the beach :).

Field Day!

Carson's school Field Day was very fun!  It wasn't too warm, but just warm enough that the kids weren't cold either.  Lots of games, water fun, and cool treats!  Carson loved ALL of it.  He made the finals in the race, but lost his shoe along the way.  He kept running though which was cool! And there's Maggie, hiding among the kids waiting for their turn to race.  She'd have raced if they let her!  I swear that kid is destined for Track & Field. She's a running fool!

Cool Treats

I hadn't really let Maggie go nuts with ice cream yet, so I let her have at it one afternoon on the back porch.  Obviously, she loved it, but that onesie was toast afterwards.

Easter! That's right, Easter!

Carson and Maggie had a great Easter!  They got lots of goodies from the bunny - books and more books for Carson, and a new baby and stroller for Maggie!  We spent the day with the Morgan/Bennett clan for some good food, laughs, and an all around fun day!  And of course, we got another "bust" for the kid's posed Easter pic together.  Carson tried, but as usual, Maggie was having none of it!  Little stinker!

Kinder Egg Drop

It's an annual tradition at Carson's school - The Kinder Egg Drop.  Each child designed a "container" for their egg, and then one by one they are dropped off a cherry picker at school.  It was quite the exciting event!  Lots of chanting kids ---"Higher! Higher! Higher!  to the VP, who took the eggs up in the cherry picker (class by class), and tossed them to the ground. We expected to have to help with the design, but Carson came up with his own idea, and we just had to buy him the supplies.  He said he wanted foam, but we settled for tile sponges.  He used four sponges and dug out a hole between the two center sponges to place his egg.  Success!  His egg survived and he got a certificate for his achievement.  Michael was able to be there too, and Carson was very excited to get a high five from dad.  We can't forget Maggie; she's always certain to get some attention from the girls in Carson's class :).
